It doesn't help that since the Middle Ages, anti-Semites have used the idea that there are negative references to Jesus and Mary in the Talmud to make the stupid claim that Jews hate Christianity (quite a few of the search terms I found when I googled "ben Stada" and "Jesus" are anti-Semitic Christian sites) and in the Middle Ages they called. The name "ben Stada", given to Jesus in the Talmud, was found to be paralleled in the ancient Mehgheehlla Scroll, which was discovered by Russian physician D. B. de Waltoff near Lake Tiberius in and is now called simply "the Safed Scroll".

That the Jews understand this story to refer to Jesus and his mother, Mary, is clearly demonstrated in their book Toldath Jeschu—’The Generations of Jesus’—where the birth of our Savior is narrated in almost the same words.(4) (4) cf. Synag. Jud. Chap. VIII, p. Another story . Scattered throughout the Talmud, the founding document of rabbinic Judaism in late antiquity, can be found quite a few references to Jesus — and they’re not flattering. In this lucid, richly detailed, and accessible book, Peter Schäfer examines how the rabbis of the Talmud read, understood, and used the New Testament Jesus narrative to. The two names Ben Stada and Ben Pandira evidently refer to the same person, and that that person is Jesus is shown clearly by the fact that we sometimes meet with the full name "Jeshu ben Pandira" thus T. Hull, 23, "in the name of Jeshu ben Pandira" ; and also the fact that "Jeshu" is sometimes found as a variant of Ben Stada in parallel.

The Blooper of Joshua Ben Perachiah. This claim is based on a fable in the rabbinic Talmud, according to which, Jesus was allegedly a disciple of Rabbi Joshua Ben Perachiah, had an altercation with him and, for revenge, decided to learn the Satanic Witchcraft Arts in Egypt for the purpose of leading the people of Israel to sin. It is believed that Jesus appears in the Talmud under different names such as Yeshua, ben Stada, and Balaam. Talmudic messages about Jesus should be divided into older stories of the Tanna rabbis (approximately 40 – AD) and later stories of the Amoraic rabbis (Dalman 43). He was a fool, answered they, and proof cannot be adduced from fools." The professional antisemites are relying on the theory that the Talmudic scholars meant Jesus when they referred to Ben Stada. A British scholar, R. Travers Herford, gives it as his opinion in "Christianity in Talmud and Midrash" (p. 37) that Ben Stada means Jesus of Nazareth.

To conceal these evil precepts, the rabbis have invested much effort in denial and sanitizing vernacular translations of the Talmud.

When confronted with the evidence, the Jews have tried many. Ariel Cohen Alloro talks about the stories from the Talmud that seem to view Jesus, Yeshua in a negative perspective, and deconstructs them.
